Rocky Mountaineer (396:55 Hours Worked)

In my role as a Guest Experience Specialist with Rocky Mountaineer, I worked directly with guests from diverse cultural and national backgrounds, providing personalized, high‑quality service within a globally recognized luxury tourism brand. This position required strong intercultural communication skills, adaptability, and cultural awareness, particularly when supporting international travellers with varying expectations, languages, and travel norms. By assisting with guest arrivals, luggage coordination, wayfinding, and issue resolution, I gained firsthand experience in how service standards and cultural sensitivity influence overall guest experience in the tourism industry.

This role enhanced my understanding of how tourism operates globally and of the critical role frontline employees play in shaping visitors’ perceptions of Canada as a destination. Working collaboratively with station and onboard teams also reinforced the importance of coordination, professionalism, and cultural respect in delivering seamless tourism experiences. Through this experience, I developed greater confidence in interacting with diverse populations and strengthened my ability to provide inclusive, guest‑centred service in an international tourism environment.
